Artificial teeth are prefabricated denture teeth, made from acrylic resin or composite, used to restore missing dentition in complete and partial removable prostheses. Supplied in graded shade guides, tooth moulds, and anterior/posterior sets, they are set into wax try-in bases during denture design and later processed into the final acrylic denture base. Selection considers shade matching, arch form, occlusal scheme, and wear resistance, since artificial teeth must withstand functional occlusal forces while maintaining esthetics over the life of the prosthesis. They remain a staple material in both conventional and digitally designed denture workflows.
